that's what my computer was doing…and sometimes it still does it when i'm starting up from it hibernating (on my new mobo). sooooo…i think it may still be the video card.

I guess in my case it isnt the video card since the problem occured even when i placed the old one back.

My psu started making noises when powering on and off, so without opening it, my best guess is that some capacitors blew up.

I remember some time ago the psu was REALLY hot so that could make it go bad faster i guess.

So I'm having a bit of a fight with myself regarding my gpu. Right now I use a single gtx 470 that's slightly overclocked and the 14 benchmark was a little over 7k on max settings 1920x1080. So what I'm trying to decide is whether I should just buy another 470 for $100 and sli them or just save and burn $400 on a 670. The performance obviously favors the 470s because of the sli setup and it would cut $300 off the cost but it would be like adding obsolete equipment to an already obsolete setup? Thoughts?

Get a 670, i doubt 2 470s even outperforms it and another 470 is not future proof. Suck it up old man.

Let me give you my address and you can ship one to me since $400 seems to be no big deal to you :P

But i mean, between a 670 and a 770 i would go 770 for sure.

Anyway i would save the money and get the better single one. It will last you longer and you will be able to upgrade it easier.

starting to agree. I also think that my 750 psu may not be enough to power 2 470s without exploding

Dont even start talking about PSU's now… It's a touchy subject.
