Help Me With My Time Machine! PC Discussion and questions

I had a pc shop test my mobo + processor and they told me the mobo was bad. the processor booted fine in another mobo and that there was a smokey smell o.0 near the 24pin connector, and mentioned maybe some power control issues :O

What are the chances i got 2 doa mobos in a row? gotta rma this shit again -_- Or am I frying the mobos i get each time?!

Eitherway im gonna try to get a new board

Test it outside the case first next time. You could be bending it when setting the screws on the case

Went with a pretty expensive high end asus mobo and 8gigs of ddr2400 ram. heres to praying i finally get this machine running

What processor you have to go with it?

I'm sitting on an I-975 extreme which cost me about $1000 a few years ago. But Mobo not supporting SATA 6GB makes me sad.
