So It's about time that I get around to building a new budget gaming rig to replace this crappy laptop. I'm only going to have about $600-$700 but I would only need to build the tower since I already have a nice ASUS moniter, a Deathadder mouse, and logitech G110 keyboard(oh and I already have a Windows 7 cd as well).

I've started to do some research but figured that some of you guys would have some good ideas and suggestions as well. Thanks in advance for your time!

gtx 760 video card, and some i5 processor would be a start

What specifically are you looking to upgrade? If your current PC isn't too old you can probably carry over some of your current hardware. RAM, HDD, PSU, are some of the things that can possibly be carried over.

Honestly was thinking about buying everything. All of my older parts I'm handing down to my brother. The only thing I might carry over would be the 500gb HDD.

if you're buying everything, you might have to get a gtx 660 or something a lil cheaper then. the 760 alone is 300, and youd need a motherboard/procesor/ram on top of that.

Look for a video card in the 200$ range
