Auto tune overclocks are usually pretty bad. I would try putting things at stock speeds and see if you still have the problem. Bad OC can cause BSODs. Set BIOS to defaults and turn off the automatic overclock.
Okay, was able to play for a couple of hours without crashing with the automatic OC turned off. Something strange happened when I wasn't even using the computer though…I noticed some blue flashing against my wall where the window of my case is and decided to take a look. Apparently the phase shift LED lights on my mother board were all lighting up at once even though nothing was running and my monitors had already turned off because of the timeout. Whenever the lights all turned on I could hear a "whining" sound coming from around the CPU area. What the heck is that
A whining sound could be the PSU. With that and the other problems you mentioned it sounds like that's your problem. The reason it could be working longer with no overclock is because it's drawing less power.
Also, another thing to look out for is your temperatures. Most motherboards have a safety setting if your cpu gets over a certain temp it will automatically restart.
My temps have been fine, that was the first thing I monitored. Last night (even though i am not overclocked anymore and can actually play a game for a couple of hours without crashing) my computer turned itself off during hibernation and proceeded to be stuck in a restart loop. I'm pretty certain it is the PSU as well, so it's a good thing that is the only part I ordered for now =)
So i fucking LOVE modular PSU's! Installed it, started up, super silent, we'll see if I crash again…then I'm back to square one and need to roll a dice to order a new motherboard or video card.
