What is server guesting? I agree that being in overflow was a pain this weekend, I had to port around till I found a place where I wasn't in the overflow in order to be able to select Sorrow's Furnace from the list during our WvW event.

Server guesting let's you play PvE on any server you want to basically. So if you had friends on other servers instead of people having to reroll, you could guest over there to play with them. WvW is exclusive to your home server though.

I'd lean towards a high pop server myself I like to see the WvW really busy. I cant imagine the wvw will be as active post launch as it was in the bwe's.

I think they will probably add more servers as launch approaches. The only reason i can see that they cut the amount they they had previously was to test them at higher capacities. Most of the time when a game launches they tend to add a lot more servers then they beta'd with so i cant imagine BW2 would be any different.

I dont really care what server we are on id Pref one with out TL or TP on it other than that it dosent really matter

They said they probably wouldn't add too many more servers at launch because they want all of the servers to be really populated. They also doubled the capacity from what they were in BWE2 to allow more people on a single server. Also with beta, we probably had a lot more people playing than there will be at launch because they had given out so many keys. I wouldn't expect too many more servers at launch.

Any new thoughts on this? I was just checking out the list, while more people have signed up, the spread seems to be consistent with before.

We'll have a decision made as release comes.

I think that a mid pop server would be best. This would allow us to be 'known' without everyone needing to be totally 'hardcore'. This would also allow members to find niches easier in the economy 'commodity brokers' (those that play the auction house, my wife made most of her GW1 money this way); 'crafters' (those that master a craft and sell their creations); 'gathers' (those that hit the nodes and sell their unneeded mats); 'runners' (while this is not necessarily something in GW2 the same type of idea can be used for those that show people how to get the map completion needed "vistas"). If we are on a high pop server these niches will be a dime-a-dozen and it will be harder to be known for these tasks.
Just my 2 cents worth.

I vote Medium or Low population. High server population is just a massive zerg. I like having the notion of getting to know people that you are meeting up with and then getting used to playing with other guilds. Games of 3-6 people for evens are always more fun then a group of 20 rolling an area.
