For those that have been wanting to play but have been on the fence about dropping $60 on it, the game will be entering Closed Beta on the 26th. Which means you can get in with the $20 pack.
That's neat. Is closed Beta still going to be HD Minecraft or will it be the beginning of testing for the game it self' or is the game suppose to be a builder!?
Yeah, Landmark is the building game. Next will be the MMORPG with the quests and classes and all of that which won't be out until 2015 or later. Landmark will be out this year some time though, and will be F2P.
Landmark is basically like you said, HD Minecraft. Landmark and Next will be two separate games. They're just built with the same engine. But with Landmark you can kind of get a feel for the graphics, movement, and combat(when they add it) as it will be pretty much the same in Next.
Do you think its worth it, even in closed beta? Or is it still needing a bit of improvement and fine tuning? I'm on the fence about grabbing Landmark. Want to help me decide?
I don't think it was worth the $60 I spent to get in, but $20 isn't bad. If you don't mind a purely building/gathering/crafting game then it's good. And most of the bigger features like combat and stuff will be added during closed beta. They do updates about every week. There is progression with the different tools and stuff, so there's stuff to keep you busy.
I'd say if you want a game that's relaxing that you can kind of play and watch a show or something at the same time then it's good. But I would do it fast because servers come back up tomorrow and there's going to be a claim rush for the best spots.
