I'll look at some stuff after work and stress test and see what I can find.

Does he just need the tower? Or monitor, peripherals, OS, and all of that?

Hey Moon, if you PM me your email I'll send you over a build from. Its a little preview for an article for GWI and it has all the components you need for a new rig at that price

Here is the GWI link

And here is the 900 dollar range Build. Keep in mind that it includes shipping but also takes into account promo codes you have to enter AND mail-in rebates.

OS and optical drive and new cases are included but you can pick and choose as you wish.

This is what I came up with. Should play most anything on high settings and has room for upgrade in the future. It's under 900 after rebates.

300gb western digital raptors are reasonably cheap and preform better than standard 1tb 7k drives if you dont need the space

I hate my 560. I've found it to be too unstable at times even with the newest drivers and all that jazz. It could just be the combination of my hardware and the gpu but who knows. Also, having that corsair 750 i have to warn you that it has a metric shitload of connections for multiple hdds/gpus. This is awesome in some aspects but can absolutely fuck the space in a case unless you have a good size full tower where it doesn't take over. I also think that ssd is a better way to go than a veloc just because they have become so stupid cheap over the last 6 months after the flooding inflation finally stopped (lol vorian). I'll try to make a list of my own later but I agree with them on 90% of the equipment. The only changes I would make would be the psu unless you can control it and the GPU because I have had nothing but trouble from my evga ftw edition of the 560. In saying that however, I would also definitely say that you should go with nvidia over AMD, because they tend to be optimized more quickly for mmos/rtss and all that jazz. I'll throw another post out later. [end rant]
