In terms of animation and feel of the game it seems WAY better then 1.0.
Overall i like it. My only issue is that i dont know if i could actually play it for more then 1 month w/o getting bored. Since i didnt saw dungeons and stuff like that ill just wait and see…
But if its only leves and quests and fates ( and just spank the boss gameplay ) it wont be enough =(
Yeah end game is going to be heavily raid focused and you're going to need a fairly large guild if you want to raid regularly. You'll have the 8 man primal raids which you'll need to get gear from for the 24 man Crystal Tower raid. Then you'll need gear from the Crystal Tower raid for the 24 man Labyrinth raid.
Also, there will be open world Primals that if you defeat it, your guild can summon that Primal. I think there's also an open world wandering Odin that every time it's defeated it gets progressively harder. There's supposed to be some other things too, but I can't remember it all right now.
GCD system is still kind of annoying and being locked to the ground as a caster is even worse but I'm still finding it to be a better experience than 1.0 for sure. The Questlines and quests in general are far more streamlined and you won't find yourself wandering around for an hour trying to figure out where a quest is. Levequests are one of the saving graces of leveling because they are more than just kill quests. They may be collection or escort quests with keeps them more interesting than the standard quests as well.
Fates are the exact opposite. Right now they are pure garbage in the fact that it is about spamming as much as you can to hopefully get a tag on a mob so you get credit for the whole event. Fates are also stupid at the moment because they are a pure zerg fest, and in saying that this is beta right now. I would assume that this problem would only get worse as more and more people get access to the game unless they add more fates at a time or make them more difficult to finish.
As for dungeons, we ran the first one tonight just to see how it was. The timer adds a twist to it and we finished it with a little more than 4 minutes left. However, the content was purely tank and spank with absolutely no other interaction other than to kill monsters to unlock another area. I'm hoping this is not indicative of the game in general as It would get repetitive very quickly.
I haven't experimented much with crafting/gathering but from what I have seen they definitely made it easier for people to understand. The crafting system has changed very little but with gathering being so much easier it makes the whole process feel less daunting than it did before.
Overall, its decent right now but there are definitely alot of kinks that need to be worked out in the game as well. Questing can be boring at times and the Fates are easily the worst part of the game right now. Hopefully they'll figure out a fix for this before release.
They will be adding level sync for fates, which lowers your level to the level of the Fate so higher levels can't just come in and 2 shot everything. That should help a little bit. But other than that, I agree that they need some work. In the starting zone they are the worst because there are so many people, but once you get higher and people are more spread out it's not as bad.
