The Mystic Forge uses a combination of random and non-random recipes. For example, if I throw four rare swords into the forge, it will return a random sword to me with a chance for that sword to be substantially better. There are also specific items that can be created by throwing four very specific items into the forge with no random involved at all. Players should look for clues hidden around the world and in items for what combinations might work. Another exciting aspect of the Mystic Forge is that it is very easy for us to add recipes, so post-launch, we can continue to add new things for players to discover.
So according to this, there will be some set recipes to get specific items from the forge. I figured if anybody gets a chance to use it they can post their findings here.
I crafted every chance i could prolly over 100 times. I realized alot of the cool looking items only come when you use the higher lvl rabbit foot looking thing. You can craft all day with the Rabbit, Dolyak, and there is one more lower one and 99% of the time the item u get will look like crap but if you use the Dragon, Phoenix or Tournament ones generally the item you get will look alot cooler .
Alittle Hint to helping with this is to buy your Blank template from the highest vendor you have unlocked and the best way i found to get the rabbit foot looking thing that was in the upper lvl was to go to the highest vendor and buy bronze boxes and break down all the items i could inside it. No since on wasting points on the gold chests u get the same amount of skins at 5 times the price.
This is just what i found that seemed to work for me this weekend. 95% of my skins came from the mystic forge so i had some decent luck doing it this way.
This one was actually from BWE3. They didn't have the Mystic Forge in PvP in the previous betas. So I'm going to assume that it will probably be the same at launch.
Yeah, if you meant the crafting video for the actual crafting, that one is from BWE1. Though I can't say if much has changed since then as I personally haven't touched crafting yet. When I get some time I'll look around for a newer video so I can update the thread.
