So, before I was thinking Engineer would be the best healing/support class, but after looking at the Guardian I have no doubt it will be the best healing class in the game.
I can see running a support build with something like that in WvW with some AoE melee specced classes like Hammer warriors and running into zergs and just crushing them with a Guardian or two for support. CJ, if you're reading, this is the profession you should play if you want to play primarily as support/healing.
As a note, retaliation reflects 130ish flat damage to whoever attacks you. Doesn't seem like a lot but it adds up. I notice that it's very good against thiefs and rangers who attack quickly and pretty much can negate necros and mesmers with their clones who just end up killing themselves. Combine that with guardian's survivability, and you spec gear to be defensive with high hp and armor, and no one is killing you without fucking thsemselves up. With that in mind, no one will be attacking you, so you can spam dodgeroll and heals on your allies to keep them alive.
I think that build would be better suited for running with another person with a high DPS build to provide control and support while the DPS kills them. I mean he kept points neutralized most of the time, but if he had a DPS with him he could have killed or at least made people retreat to actually capture the points.
I'd probably have a guardian specced for retailiation go disturb the other team's trebuchet solo or send him to the center control point with another dpsing class.
