NCSoft announced today that they will be releasing a third installment of the extremely successful Lineage series. The game is not a sequel to Lineage 2 but rather to Lineage (1) instead. While Lineage Eternal is a 3D game, the camera will be in a fixed position similar to Diablo 3.

NCSoft plans to begin Closed Beta tests early 2012 and said the debut trailer will be released in G-Star 2011, in two days time, Nov 10th.

They also gave out several artwork images but quite a few screenshots as well. The game is not lacking graphically, it actually looks better than Diablo 3 in terms of clarity.

Sit tight and enjoy the images, more info about this game will start rolling in 2 days from now.

Hmm not what I expected from an art and visual perspective, but it looks like it has the capability of delivering.

That honestly was the sickest video I've seen for any game recently. This game is like an MMO Version of Diablo 3 on steroids.

Man I've waited so long for Lineage 3, and I was cautiously skeptical at first, but this game looks ridiculous. Teamwork mechanics, aim based spell casting, massive pvp, sick skill animations, streamlined and sexy. They did not disappoint their fans.

This game just went up to the top of my list of most anticipated games over guildwars.

It looks pretty interesting. Usually I prefer the 3rd person free roam camera style of the standard mmo over the top down fixed camera. But the mechanics and stuff they've implemented do look pretty good. When I saw that dude start climbing up that tower I was like oh shit. And the drag skills look pretty cool too.

The main thing that worries me though, is with this style it looks like it might be heavily instanced, like Dragon Nest. GW2 is still definitely at the top of my list, but if they make this a B2P game like GW2 I'll most likely pick it up. I don't know if I can see myself paying a sub for it though, but I'll wait until more info comes out to make that call.

That was my one concern as well, but apparently those castle seige instances are not "premade cutscenes." So hopefully they are actually persistent world. Massive scales was one of the trademarks of L2, if they keep that aspect, this game will be very fun.

Sounds like it will be similar to Aion with mixed isntances and some persistent world.

He does go on record on saying that there will be massive multiplayer vs multiplaeyr, although hes not sure how if there will be seiges (doubt there won't)

All in all, pretty different from L2, more similar to L1.

Oh and an important note : there will be PK.

Totally forgot all about this game as I haven't heard anything in a while. But apparently they're supposed to be releasing more info on it sometime later this year, possibly a release date.
