Well, I'll get this out of the way first. The game is nowhere near as fun as GW2. Not even close. I'm sure that's not surprising to most people, but yeah. I do like the investigation missions. You actually have to figure out puzzles and do research and stuff to figure them out. Right now though, the combat is pretty bad and keeps the game from being good. It's like a clunkier version of SWTOR's combat. Between the awkward targeting, clunky animations and skills, it's just not fun at all. Especially after playing GW2. I'd say right now, it's worth to try out to play some of the investigation missions. but not worth buying.
Yeah, that's what it feels like. Except for the PvP. I mean, on one side I can see people working together to figure out the puzzles and stuff because they actually can get quite complicated. Since the quest usually just gives you a vague riddle and you have to do research online or search around the zone for clues.
It's not really a bad game. I think the quest style makes it more fun than SWTOR. The only thing that really turns me off is the stiff combat. The "leveling" system is pretty interesting though. You don't really gain levels, you gain exp for ability points that you can spend in different trees to specialize to any weapon type you want. You can have 2 different weapons equipped at a time but you can only have 7 active skills and 7 passive skills equipped at a time. So you can either split your skills up and divide them amongst both weapons, or you can just specialize in one weapon.
Since there isn't any levels, it seems to work more on a tier system. With each zone being a different tier. So you can do any quests in that zone at any time which makes it feel a bit more open ended and not linear like most MMOs that have you running from quest hub to quest hub. I'd probably consider playing it if GW2 wasn't coming out and the combat was a little better.
