On another note, Intel's new Ivy Bridges are supposedly being launched sometime this month and provide a nice small upgrade (10-15%) over a Sandy Bridge if you don't already have a Sandy Bridge chip. If it's around the same price it'll be worth taking a look at if you're in the market for a new CPU.
Really considering upgrading my rig. I have to run on low with a gtx 470 to get acceptable fps (30+) in pvp. But the more I plan out upgrades I end up just thinking i should just build from the ground up again -_-
Should wait for a bit after the optimize. They said that the game was mostly CPU bound in beta so upgrading the gfx card or changing graphics settings wouldn't have a very big impact in beta until they optimize to utilize gpus more.
Hello! If you still wanted to do a PC build, I may be of assistance :)
A GTX 670 and Ivy Bridge CPU (15 3570k) are on their way to my house as I type. I haven't purchased GW2 yet, but I AM going to be per-purchasing it well before the 20-22 Beta event. I can either give you first hand experience, or I can just allow you to pick my mind after my 2 month hiatus of in-depth computer parts researching (which includes the best deals!)
